healthcare and medical devices
Qosina, the largest manufacturer of single-use medical and pharmaceutical components for OEM use worldwide, is transforming product sampling access for engineers. Qosina has introduced Qosina Qubes vending machines, the latest product launch designed to make it fast, easy, and fun to sample products.
How the Vending Machine Works
Whereas they once would wait for days for samples to be mailed to them, today's engineers can walk up to one of these stand-alone machines, press a button, and be handed the medical device component they require. Each of these vending machines is loaded with a meticulously selected assortment of connectors, valves, tubing, and other basic components from Qosina's vast inventory.
Shaping Sampling into Discovery
Qosina Qubes vending machines is a deceptively simple yet powerful idea: provide innovation leaders with instantaneous, first-hand access to parts so they can expedite prototyping and troubleshooting. Shifting sampling to an on-demand model, Qosina is aiming to take common design and test process bottlenecks out of the equation.
CEO Emphasizes Accelerating Innovation
"Engineers love to solve problems yet often see slowdowns in delivery of the right part they need when they need it," said Lee Pochter, CEO of Qosina. "As part of standard sampling products, the Qosina Qubes enable immediate access—no paperwork, no slowdowns—upon simple button press. Fun and functional, they quicken and expedite the discovery process so that engineers can focus on their next innovation breakthrough."
Leveraging at Key Industry Conventions
Qosina Qubes vending machines will be launched at two large industry trade shows later this fall: MEDevice Boston (September 30–October 1, 2025) and ISPE (October 1, 2025). Industry insiders and attendees will preview the novel vending idea that combines functionality with something of whimsy.
Following the launch, the machines will also be deployed at M2D2 incubator in the Boston region, making it easier for start-ups and research firms to gain access to critical components in-house.
Shaking Things Up
The vending configuration is not only meant to ease logistics, it is also meant to encourage innovation. Engineers visiting the machines might find that they see unfamiliar components they never would have considered otherwise, and be inspired to come up with alternative uses and designs. It is that sense of discovery that underlies the value of the Qosina Qubes vending machines extending beyond that of a mere sampling tool—the machines are innovation generators as well.
One Step Towards More Intelligent Sampling
For Qosina, the program is part of a larger effort to enable medical device innovation with products that are easy to use. By going beyond standard catalogues and request cards, the firm is reinventing the flow of components into the hands of inventors. In rapidly moving industries like medical technology and drugs, cutting friction in the design cycle can spell the difference between a stalled project and an opportune breakthrough.
Looking Ahead
In the future, the company plans to expand the Qosina Qubes vending machines to more labs, offices, and innovation centers all over the country. It could become industry-wide for component sampling if successful, in those industries that need access and speed.
Reimagining the Sampling Protocol Through this innovative model, Qosina is not just selling components—it is bringing new concepts of sampling, discovery, and innovation.
