cloud computing and infrastructure

The ability of Northwind Midstream Partners to process off-spec gas, store carbon, and build related facilities in Lea County, New Mexico, has been increased. The increase assists the oil and gas sector in the area improve energy reliability.

The firm has constructed and started utilizing a capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) for high-circulation amine treatment. Upgradation features two acid gas disposal wells, more than 200 miles of large-diameter pipelines, and 41,750 horsepower of compression in five compressor stations.

Creating improved infrastructure for sustainable operations

This system growth is backed by long-term leases of more than 165,000 acres of land with leading oil and gas production operators in the Northern Delaware Basin. Northwind is developing a natural gas infrastructure system in line with the requirements of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) in accordance with industry standards. The system is designed to handle natural gas with high carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide content, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and improving energy reliability.

Titan Treating Complex is at the center of growth

Phase one expansion, which will be completed by mid-2025, is focused on the Titan Treating Complex. Amine treating capacity has been increased by another 100 mcf/d and a deep acid-gas injection and carbon storage well has been placed through this project.

With these additions, the Titan Complex is capable of treating 150 mcf/d and has two acid-gas injectors. The combined treating capacity is to be 200 mcf/d as of the end of the first phase. The capacity is also to be increased to 400 mcf/d by 2026, supported by a final investment decision and customer contracts.

Reinforcing Gas Gathering and Compression

Northwind has greatly upgraded its low- and high-pressure natural gas gathering and compression system in Lea County. This makes the transportation of natural gas easier and safer and makes energy more reliable in the area.

CEO Emphasizes Industry Accolades

Northwind CEO Matt Spicer emphasized the need to expand gas gathering, treatment, and storage capacity by stating:

“Accumulating, processing, and storing greater quantities of off-spec gas is very beneficial to the success of the oil and gas business in Lea County. The larger Titan plant and the pipelines and compression constructed by Northwind provide our upstream producer partners with an economical and safe means of processing off-spec gas.”

“Our facilities and infrastructure support producers to efficiently tap the rich areas in the Northern Delaware Basin and significantly lower emissions.”

 Key Takeaways:

·         Northwind increases New Mexico's treating capacity for gas and energy reliability.

·         The Titan Treating Complex is currently capable of treating 150 mcf/d. By 2025, it will treat 200 mcf/d.

·         Expansion plans include adding capacity to 400 mcf/d by 2026.

·         It is backed by long-term contracts with significant oil and gas producers.

·         Improved pipeline and compression facilities enhance natural gas gathering activities.

Northwind's consistent dedication to the safe storing and treatment of gas puts the company at the forefront of providing clean and safe energy production for the Northern Delaware Basin.
