KAT VR Introduces KAT Walk C3 Ultra Omnidirectional VR Treadmill

KAT VR introduces the KAT Walk C3 Ultra, an omnidirectional VR treadmill with backward walking, haptic shoes and continuous power options

KAT VR has launched the KAT Walk C3 Ultra, an omnidirectional VR treadmill that allows players to move physically in different directions while playing virtual reality games. The new model brings several changes to the company's earlier C2 version, including a backward-walking mechanism, a larger platform and updated haptic shoes.

One of the notable additions is the ability to walk backward without using a controller's thumbstick. Players can lean back to activate the mechanical safety lock, allowing them to take backward steps while remaining secured on the platform. The walking area is also 15% larger than the previous model. KAT VR has introduced a Sit Module for players who prefer seated sessions.

The KAT VR treadmill is available in Standard and Power editions. The Power Edition comes with an updated power system featuring a USB-C port with output of up to 100W and a USB-A port rated at 10W. An integrated power delivery chip supports charging during gameplay, including sessions with the Meta Quest 3.

The C3 Haptics Shoes are another part of the updated system. They contain vibration motors in their soles and work with the treadmill base and VR controllers to provide physical feedback during gameplay.

In terms of compatibility, the VR gaming treadmill supports PCVR titles and more than 100 standalone Meta Quest games that do not require a PC. Users can also purchase the KAT Quest Adapter, which adds an RJ-45 port and three USB-A ports.

The Standard Edition, including shoes, starts at $1,499, while the Power Edition costs $1,699. Early-bird bundles with the Quest Adapter are priced at $1,199 and $1,359, respectively.

Customers can find the product through the KAT VR official website and Amazon. The company has stated that 100 units are available for immediate shipment. Orders will be randomized within a week of purchase, while the remaining orders are expected to ship by mid-November.
