Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker debuts with Dolby Atmos support, spatial audio, and smart connectivity, aiming to rival Sonos in home audio
Bose has officially unveiled its latest innovation, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, a compact yet powerful connected device designed to bridge the gap between music listening and home theater performance. Following the release of its Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, the new speaker strengthens Bose’s push into the premium wireless audio ecosystem.
The Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker marks the company’s renewed effort to compete directly with rivals like Sonos, offering a flexible solution that blends immersive surround sound with everyday music playback.
Built for Both Music and Home Theater
Unlike traditional smart speakers, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is designed to serve dual purposes. While it functions as a standalone Wi-Fi speaker for music, it can also integrate seamlessly into a wireless home theater setup. When paired with the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar and subwoofer, two of these speakers can act as rear satellites, enabling a full 7.1.4 channel surround system with support for Dolby Atmos.
This hybrid approach gives Bose an edge in versatility, allowing users to switch between casual listening and cinematic experiences without additional hardware complexity.
Advanced Spatial Audio and Acoustic Design
To deliver immersive sound, Bose has equipped the speaker with an upward-firing driver that reflects audio off the ceiling, creating a sense of height and spatial depth. The design also includes a front-facing woofer and tweeter, along with the brand’s QuietPort technology for enhanced bass performance.
Additionally, Bose introduces its proprietary TrueSpatial technology, which enhances audio into a 3D-like experience regardless of the source. This positions the speaker as a strong alternative to competitors such as the Sonos Era 300 and Amazon Echo Studio (2025).
Smart Connectivity and Voice Control
The speaker supports Wi-Fi 6 and integrates with popular streaming protocols like Chromecast, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect. It also includes Bluetooth 5.3 and a 3.5 mm jack for wired playback. With built-in support for Amazon Alexa, users can control playback, adjust volume, or manage smart home devices using voice commands.
Through the Bose app, users can configure multi-room setups or pair two speakers for stereo sound, enhancing flexibility across different listening environments.
Compact Design and Pricing
Despite its small 12 cm height, the speaker is engineered for deep, room-filling sound. Its sleek design features a fabric grille and touch controls with a radial slider for intuitive operation.
The Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is now available for pre-order at €349.95, with color options including black, white, and sand. Optional accessories such as wall mounts and stands are also offered, making it adaptable to various home setups.
