FromSoftware has finally pulled the plug and has dropped what fans have been waiting for: the Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01.1 notes. The patch may look small on paper but has giant changes that will make a huge difference for solo players exploring the deadly realms of Nightreign.

Auto-Revive Mechanic Changes the Game for Solo Players

The biggest news of the Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01.1 notes is the addition of a game-saver feature: Automatic Revival Upon Defeat for solo-player nighttime boss battles. The feature allows you to revive once in a boss fight, with a maximum of three revivals total per session — but only if you're solo, solo.

This change seems to be FromSoftware's way of giving solo adventurers a minor but worthwhile edge in a world that, at times, can be more than one can manage. In addition, rune rewards are increased for solo players, so the lone-wolf option is as effective — and rewarding — as ever.

Additional High-Rarity Relics from Day 3

Not everything was revealed prior to the changes. The Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01.1 notes contain some stealthy changes that enhance the gameplay. After you've hit Day 3 of your journey, the probability of getting high-rarity Relics has been significantly enhanced.

The characters also possess a higher chance of obtaining such high-end Relics by interacting with the Scenic Flat stones that they acquire from the Small Jar Bazaar. These micro-balance tweaks appear to be aimed at characters who are already performing well but need a little push halfway through the game.

Steam Version Bug Fixes and Quality Improvements

In addition to the gameplay adjustments, the new update also addresses a broad spectrum of performance issues, particularly for Steam users. A number of bugs that focused on animation glitches and graphics quality have been streamlined. These are not showy adjustments, but they provide a little more sheen to the game's PC experience, particularly in high-density visual environments.

What's Next?

Despite the fact that players were looking forward to most of these coming in with next week's patch 1.02, FromSoftware came and shocked us all by dropping some of the most highly anticipated additions early — courtesy of their strange numbering system. This shows that they are committed to delivering player demands in a timely manner, even as Nightreign keeps rolling out globally.

Community reactions remain polarized, primarily due to the extreme difficulty curve of the game and the absence of support for duo-play. These additional changes should, however, make the game a bit more balanced and less punish-y for single-player players.

Whether you're starting the game for the first time or returning after frustration with the initial boss battles, the Elden Ring Nightreign patch 1.01.1 notes offer a couple of reasons why you might want to play through it again — especially if you're playing solo and would like a more even battle and better loot.
