Howden launches a dedicated US Cyber practice, strengthening cyber insurance, risk advisory, and claims support for corporate clients
Global insurance intermediary Howden has announced the formation of a dedicated Howden US Cyber practice, reinforcing its commitment to investing in specialist talent to help corporate clients navigate an increasingly complex cyber threat environment. The move reflects growing demand for advanced cyber insurance solutions as organisations face rising ransomware attacks and data breaches.
Senior Leadership Team Brings Deep Cyber Expertise
The newly formed Howden US Cyber practice is led by an experienced senior team including Juliet White, Head of Cyber; Lou Botticell, Cyber Brokerage Leader; Jessica Daehler, Cyber Growth & Strategy Leader; Suzane Gladle, Cyber Client Engagement & Service Leader; David Hau, Cyber Private Equity & M&A Solutions Leader; and Natalia Santiago, Head of Cyber Claims. Collectively, the leadership group brings an average of more than two decades of industry experience each.
Integrated Cyber Insurance and Advisory Capabilities
Now operating as part of Howden’s US business, the Howden US Cyber practice delivers comprehensive cyber insurance capabilities spanning strategic advisory, policy placement, client servicing, product innovation, claims management and cyber risk consultancy. The combination of underwriting and broking expertise enables the team to offer practical, data-driven advice aligned with clients’ operational realities.
Strengthening Howden’s Global Cyber Proposition
The launch significantly enhances Howden’s global cyber offering, expanding its international network of cyber specialists to more than 150 professionals across five continents. This global footprint allows the Howden US Cyber practice to support multinational clients with complex and cross-border cyber risks while maintaining strong local market insight.
Cyber Insurance Delivers Strong ROI for Corporates
Ron Borys, Head of Financial Lines at Howden US, said the firm’s data shows cyber insurance more than pays for itself, delivering a 19% return on investment. He noted that beyond financial protection, cyber insurance improves cyber hygiene, incident response and overall operational resilience, particularly in a threat landscape dominated by high-severity ransomware incidents.
Leadership Highlights Agility and Client-Focused Innovation
Mike Parrish, CEO of Howden US, described the new unit as the sector’s “US Cyber A-team,” highlighting its blend of senior underwriters and experienced brokers. Shay Simkin, Chair of Cyber at Howden, added that the rapid build-out of the Howden US Cyber practice demonstrates the success of the firm’s strategy to invest in global cyber expertise, enabling it to address the most complex cyber insurance risks faced by its 10,000 clients worldwide.
