Panasonic is set to shut down its AVC Networks manufacturing facility in Malaysia as part of a wider restructuring of its global production operations. Panasonic Reshapes Its Global Manufacturing Network

According to a July 27 announcement published by Panasonic Malaysia, television production at the Shah Alam facility will stop by the end of September 2026. Production of Blu-ray Disc players will be transferred to China Hualu Panasonic AVC Networks Co Ltd in China.

The company will also discontinue manufacturing Technics-branded hi-fi audio products at the facility by the end of February 2027. Production will move to another Panasonic Group company as the business works to strengthen the competitiveness of its audio-visual communications operations.

As part of the Panasonic factory closure, PAVCKM will cease operations. Panasonic said it is working with relevant authorities, government agencies, and the Electrical Industry Workers' Union to provide support to affected employees, including assistance with job placement and career transitions.

Panasonic Continues Its Malaysia Operations

Despite the Panasonic Malaysia factory closure, the company said it will continue manufacturing other audio products in Malaysia while improving efficiency across its production activities. Sales and after-sales services for television and audio products will also continue as usual.
