Meta Description: Catch every reveal from the 2025 VR Games Showcase, including new game launches, major franchise debuts, and fresh VR worlds announced across all major platforms
The fourth annual VR Games Showcase has officially wrapped, delivering one of the most content-packed events the VR industry has seen this year. From surprise launches to long-awaited reveals, the show highlighted more than 20 major titles coming to Meta Quest, SteamVR, PS VR2, and Apple platforms. Whether you're into atmospheric survival, high-speed competition, or whimsical co-op adventures, this year’s event proved that virtual reality isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
A Surprise Launch: Vampire Survivors VR Arrives Immediately
The biggest surprise came right out of the gate: Vampire Survivors but it’s in virtual reality launched during the show and is available now on Meta Quest. The iconic roguelite phenomenon has officially made the jump into VR, giving players the chance to step directly into its chaotic bullet-hell gameplay. With its minimalist mechanics and over-the-top power scaling, the VR adaptation aims to let players “be the bullet hell… on your face,” bringing a new level of immersion to one of indie gaming’s most recognizable hits.
Franchise Power: Orcs Must Die and TMNT Step Into VR
Another standout reveal was Orcs Must Die: By The Blade, arriving in January 2026. Teravision Games is reimagining the beloved trap-slaughter franchise entirely for VR. Expect up-close melee combat, trap placement, and hordes of loud, smelly orcs barreling toward you in fully immersive fashion. For long-time fans, this new story set on Stormwreck Island promises a fresh but faithful return to the series’ signature chaos.
Fans of iconic franchises weren’t left out elsewhere either. A fresh look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City highlighted exploration of the Turtles’ lair and the ongoing fight to reclaim New York from the Foot Clan. The title marks the first VR game for the legendary heroes, adding a new dimension of action to the universe.
New IP Steal the Show
The VR Games Showcase also introduced original worlds from veteran developers. CharacterBank unveiled Knights of Fiona, an adventure that transports players to the vibrant realm of Gallia. This co-op action RPG allows up to three players to battle an ancient evil alongside the courageous Fiona and her sworn knights.
Meanwhile, Spectral Games revealed The Lightkeepers, a co-op survival title where day brings exploration and night demands absolute vigilance against nightmare creatures. Both games highlight the growing ambition and narrative depth emerging in VR-exclusive storytelling.
Immediate Releases and Deep Dives Across Genres
Beyond the reveals, viewers enjoyed several deep dives and surprise “available now” moments. Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss, the multiplayer spin-off of Polyarc’s beloved universe, received a detailed showcase and launched immediately across Apple, Meta, and Steam. Syberia VR, Tracked: Shoot to Survive, and new updates for Project Freefall, Among Us 3D, and Golf 5 also dropped during the broadcast.
Classic genres found new life as well. Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR, powered by the legendary Quake engine, is slated for 2026 and promises old-school brutality with modern VR combat. Family-friendly titles like Penguin Festival and cutesy co-op horror such as Deadly Delivery expanded the showcase’s genre diversity even further.
Preshow Highlights Add Even More Variety
The event’s preshow added eight more titles, including updates for Banners & Bastions, a December release date for VR Giants, and new reveals like Aerosurfer, Fixer Undercover, and Espire MR Missions, which transforms a player’s real room into a stealth battleground thanks to innovative mixed-reality tools.
A Strong Signal for VR’s Future
In total, the VR Games Showcase proved once again why it has become one of the most anticipated events in the VR calendar. With surprise launches, major franchise expansions, and ambitious original IP, the showcase underscored the explosive growth of VR across genres and platforms. As the industry pushes toward 2026, the momentum shown at this year’s VR Games Showcase signals an exciting new era—and fans will be eagerly awaiting what the next VR Games Showcase brings.
