Google Gemini new TikTok style update
Dramatic revisions could be on the horizon for Google Gemini, as parent company Alphabet Inc. is said to be readying a significant redesign that would be more interactive and engaging. Google Gemini update will have a scrollable, TikTok-esque feed of prompts and a new section called discovery, rather than the bare-bones landing page today.
The change, initially revealed by Android Authority, was found inside the code of a new version of Gemini. Should it prove true, the change could turn Gemini into something that is no longer a chat-based bot, but experience-based, and content-focused, catering more towards the mobile users today.
As Bank of America analyst Justin Post sees it, a feed-based design Google Gemini update would provide user engagement that is "significantly enhanced," as the design is akin to scrolling experiences that users love on Instagram Reels as well as on TikTok. He went on further saying that the redesign could provide new monetization possibilities via premium subscriptions or sponsored content.
Gemini's Growing Fame and Market Influence
Gemini's pace has been outstanding thus far in 2025. On forecast site Kalshi, Gemini went past OpenAI's ChatGPT as the odds-on favorite as the "best AI at the end of 2025" with a 65% implied likelihood. Innovative products on the app like the image-editing tool Nano Banana have helped strengthen market performance by Alphabet.
Alphabet shares increased by 30% year-to-date, which is the second-best performing "Magnificent Seven" constituent after Nvidia. Bulls are optimistic that this Google Gemini update would be another catalyst leading to future growth in the stock of the company.
AI Monetization Competition Begins to Heat Up
The transformation comes as the competition among the largest players in AI is intensifying. Last week, OpenAI introduced its Sora app and ChatGPT Pulse, as the company is making a turn towards revenue generation in AI through advertisements. Morgan Stanley analysts predict that Meta and Alphabet will be quick on the trigger if user behavior changes — the Google Gemini update is part of that process.
Bank of America's Post noted that multimodal AI interfaces, i.e., text, images, video, and voice, are the new normal in the business. Gemini's new visual feed would align ideally with this trend, appealing especially to users who want a more dynamic, multimedia experience from AI assistants.
One Step Closer to Monetizing AI at Scale
For investors, the Gemini revamp signals Google’s intent to turn AI engagement into tangible revenue. “Anything that generates more revenue is the next step,” said Josh Chastant, portfolio manager at Guidestone. With tech giants spending hundreds of billions on AI infrastructure, monetization remains the ultimate goal.
If the Google Gemini update meets the hype, the Alphabet could not only solidify itself as the leader in the AI race, but also set new standards for the interaction between artificial intelligence and the user. Gemini could, in the coming few months, be the new face of consumer AI — or test, again, in the ever-evolving category of generative technology.
