Wheel of Fortune Video Poker Las Vegas Debuts at Downtown Grand
In a move that is both nostalgic, progressive, and gaming-strategically shrewd, international casino operator International Game Technology (IGT) formally launched its latest innovation — Wheel of Fortune Video Poker Las Vegas — at the iconic Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino. The global rollout of the new casino-based game accompanies a new twist on video poker action and Wheel of Fortune's iconic game show elements.
This celebrity-studded debut combines two top-performing formats in one digital umbrella. Wheel of Fortune fans and video poker players can now enjoy the excitement of puzzle-solving and jackpot-spinning action in a new format driven by IGT's CrystalCurve cabinet.
A World Gaming Benchmark
"For years, our players have enjoyed IGT video poker and Wheel of Fortune slots," said Rick Coltor, slots manager at Downtown Grand Las Vegas. "So, to take the DNA of those two products and spin them into something new is a strong offer to our players."
The Wheel of Fortune Video Poker game accomplishes more than presenting a new face to the casino floor. Players can choose triple-play, five-play, or ten-play game options and have the chance to win up to 100,000 credits with a royal flush dealt. The game is complemented by the Wheel Bonus, the signature of the popular TV gameshow, and offers Wheel of Fortune fans a full-circle experience.
Why This Matters in the Casino World
IGT's new title isn't merely a game release — it's a risk that further cements their position in the international gaming marketplace. Wheel of Fortune Video Poker Las Vegas is more than a new flashy machine; it's a strategic blend of popular game styles.
Nick Khin, President of Global Gaming at IGT, referred to the launch as "an important milestone in the deployment of our expanded Wheel of Fortune games portfolio." And what better place to do it than Las Vegas, generally regarded as the world's largest video poker market.
Wheel of Fortune Goes Online and International
IGT's ride on the Wheel of Fortune brand extends beyond land casinos. In 2023, IGT signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television that gave IGT exclusive rights to produce Wheel of Fortune-branded products in gaming, lottery, iGaming, and iLottery.
Among the largest milestones was the introduction of the Wheel of Fortune Online Casino, which was created in collaboration with BetMGM. Initially introduced in New Jersey, the online casino introduced a portfolio of licensed games to online gamers, such as Wheel of Fortune Megaways and Power Wedges.
Following the American launch, the virtual casino launched into the regulated Ontario market, opening the historic name to Canadian players.
"Introducing Wheel of Fortune Casino in Ontario is a part of our effort to bring players the games they love and an entertaining experience with a classic game show," said Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer of BetMGM.
Final Spin
With its mix of high-stakes action, brand favorite, and Vegas spectacle, Wheel of Fortune Video Poker Las Vegas will be among the most exciting game releases of 2025. Whether you're getting away for a vacation at Downtown Grand or checking in from Ontario, this is one jackpot you cannot resist.
