IoT and Robotics

Tata Consultancy Services has opened a new engineering lab for the Internet of Things in Cincinnati, Ohio. The new 3,000-square-foot lab has been specifically designed to run rapid prototyping, experimentation, and large-scale implementation for artificial intelligence, general AI, and IoT engineering solutions for its customers.

The lab, as developed, will also strengthen the TCS suite of IoT solutions, including that of TCS Clever Energy, TCS Digital Manufacturing Platform (DMP), and that of TCS Digifleet. The given solutions will be brought in to serve different industries, such as healthcare, manufacturing, energy, consumer packaged goods, among several others.

This will help the clients of TCS in developing innovative solutions using new facilities that enable increased collaboration and co-innovation between business entities. It is aimed at bringing together physical assets, partner technologies, and customer challenges to result in new offerings.

Key projects at the IoT Engineering Lab include the following:

Digital Twin of the Heart: TCS has come up with the first digital heart of a professional runner to showcase the potential for AI-empowered digital twin technology in changing how athletes train and receive health care.

Building Software-Defined Vehicles: TCS empowers car manufacturers to build software-defined vehicles that are armed with GenAI, enabled for object detection, and able to monitor locales, people, vehicles, and other hazards on the road.

Smart Gardening Technology: Engaging the community, TCS Grow+ has harvested over 3,500 pounds of fresh produce that is distributed to more than 500 families via food banks and other charities.

The lab will be based in Cincinnati, home to TCS's largest delivery center in the Americas. The IoT engineering lab for TCS-connected transformations hosts a local talent reef of tech-savvy people that can support this real-time product connectivity model with TCS clients across North America. This investment looks into bridging operational and digital technology gaps with TCS clients.
