Google NEET UG practice test launches via Gemini, offering free AI-powered mock exams for Indian students preparing for competitive medical entrance tests
Google has expanded its AI-driven education push in India by introducing the Google NEET UG practice test through its Gemini platform. Announced on April 13, the new feature offers aspiring medical students a full-length mock exam experience designed to closely mirror the actual National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG).
The Google NEET UG practice test is the latest addition to the company’s growing portfolio of standardized test preparation tools. Earlier this year, Google introduced similar AI-based practice features for exams like the SAT and JEE Main, signaling a broader strategy to support students preparing for competitive tests.
With this rollout, students can now access full-length mock exams at no cost. The experience is designed to simulate real test conditions, helping candidates build familiarity with the exam format and improve time management.
Developed with trusted Indian education platforms
To ensure quality and accuracy, Google has partnered with well-known Indian education providers such as Physics Wallah and Careers360. According to the company, the content used in the Google NEET UG practice test has been rigorously vetted to match the difficulty level and structure of the actual exam.
This collaboration aims to provide students with reliable preparation material that reflects real exam scenarios, making the tool more effective for serious aspirants.
Simple access through Gemini platform
Students can access the feature easily by using the Gemini AI platform. By simply typing a prompt like “I want to take a NEET mock exam,” users can begin an interactive test session. The platform creates an exam-like environment, offering a structured and engaging way to practice.
Currently, the feature is available only in English and is accessible to users with personal Google accounts, as well as subscribers of Google Workspace. Administrators can manage access through the Workspace settings, but the tool is automatically enabled for users who already have access to Gemini.
Strengthening Google’s education push in India
The launch of the Google NEET UG practice test reflects Google’s growing focus on education technology in India. With lakhs of students appearing for NEET UG every year, access to high-quality preparation resources has always been a challenge for many.
By integrating AI into test preparation, Google aims to make learning more accessible and personalized. The move also highlights the company’s recognition of India’s competitive exam landscape and its effort to support students at scale.
As AI continues to reshape education, tools like this could play a key role in leveling the playing field—giving more students the opportunity to prepare effectively for one of India’s most competitive exams.
