Toyota Motor North America partners Treehouse to offer seamless home EV charger installation for 2026 Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs across the US
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to simplify home EV charger purchasing and installation for customers purchasing 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus electrified vehicles in the US. The collaboration supports both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), reinforcing Toyota’s broader push toward seamless electrification.
End-to-End Installation Support
Through this agreement, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to manage the full Level 2 AC home charging installation process. Treehouse will oversee project scoping, system design, permitting, and on-site installation. Customers can use a virtual assessment tool to submit photos and complete a survey, allowing quotes to be generated within 48 hours. Licensed electricians approved by Treehouse typically complete electrical upgrades and charger installation in a single visit, making the process efficient and streamlined.
Dual-Voltage Charging Cable Included
As part of the initiative, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to enhance the ownership experience for 2026-model-year and newer vehicles. All eligible Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs sold in the US will come equipped with a dual-voltage 120V/240V AC charging cable compatible with both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. With a maximum output of 7.7kW, the cable can recharge a vehicle from approximately 10% battery level to full overnight under optimal conditions. Toyota began bundling the cable with BEVs in 2024 and will extend it to PHEVs nationwide starting in 2026.
Optional Faster Charging Solutions
Customers also have the option to install a hardwired ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger through Treehouse, which can reduce charging time by up to 30% depending on vehicle configuration. Treehouse provides a two-year warranty on installation, while ChargePoint offers a three-year hardware warranty.
Executives emphasized convenience as the central goal. TMNA’s vice president Thibaut de Barros Conti noted that the home-charging experience should be as easy as owning the vehicle itself, while Treehouse CEO Eric Owski described the collaboration as a step toward making electrification more accessible for US consumers.
