Certus adopts Siemens’ AI-driven custom IC software to accelerate IO, ESD, and analog IP development for automotive, aerospace, and industrial markets
Siemens announced that Certus Semiconductor has adopted its Solido Custom IC solutions to accelerate the development of IO and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) library solutions across automotive, aerospace, mobile, consumer electronics, industrial, AI, and IoT applications. The integration of Siemens’ custom IC software marks a significant step toward advancing high-reliability design workflows for mission-critical markets.
With this move, Certus aims to strengthen its position as a leader in IO libraries, ESD protection, and analog IP development. Siemens’ AI-driven platforms will enable Certus to deliver next-generation devices and interfaces that meet the highest global standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
Leaders Highlight Impact of AI on Advanced Analog Design
“Certus Semiconductor has accelerated its IP development process using Siemens’ industry-leading EDA tools,” said Stephen Fairbanks, CEO of Certus Semiconductor. He noted that analog precision remains central to the company’s mission, especially for markets where performance cannot be compromised. The shift to AI-enhanced custom IC software allows Certus to keep pace with the scaling challenges of advanced nodes.
Amit Gupta, Senior VP and GM of Siemens EDA, emphasized that the deployment validates AI as a transformational force in analog and RF design. “By bringing AI-powered performance and optimization to the entire workflow, we enable design teams to accelerate development for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications—while maintaining the precision these markets demand,” he said. Gupta highlighted that custom IC software is increasingly essential as complexity grows.
Strengthening Partnerships and Expanding Technical Depth
Certus’ adoption of Siemens tools further reinforces its position as a GlobalFoundries IP Alliance partner, a Silicon Catalyst in-kind partner, and a newly inducted member of the TSMC Open Innovation Platform Alliance. The company specializes in advanced ESD solutions for RF, transceiver, and high-voltage applications, alongside multiprotocol IOs, RF radios, and analog IPs such as oscillators, data converters, and regulators.
Certus has already integrated multiple Siemens Solido platforms—including Solido Design Environment, Solido Characterization Suite, Solido IP Validation Suite, and Solido Simulation Suite—across its workflows. These AI-powered solutions enhance verification speed, accuracy, and design robustness, further showcasing how custom IC software is reshaping next-generation chip development.
With its continued investment in Siemens technology, Certus is positioning itself at the forefront of the global shift toward AI-driven custom IC software innovation.
