India's start-up ecosystem is to benefit from a fresh wave of foreign investment in Indian start-ups with US-based venture capital and growth accelerator firm Expert Dojo investing $15 million. The funding is part of the firm's newly launched $100 million global fund that is to invest in early-stage companies with international growth potential.

It was made public at the Investors Conclave 2025 in Bengaluru that Expert Dojo would be investing in 20 to 25 start-ups in the first year. The sectors it will be focusing on are fintech, B2B services, SaaS, and artificial intelligence — all areas that are experiencing rapid innovation and demand.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Southern California, Expert Dojo has already developed a strong portfolio with investments in over 300 start-ups globally. With growing interest in the Indian market, the firm has already invested in over 30 Indian start-ups in its previous international funds. This new fund further reinforces foreign investment in Indian start-ups, demonstrating confidence in the country's growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Start-ups selected by the fund will be funded with between $50,000 and $1 million. More importantly, they will also get access to Expert Dojo's international network of investors, mentors, and strategic partners — a key advantage for companies wishing to expand internationally.

“We're excited about expanding our participation in India," said Brian Mac Mahon, Managing Partner and Founder of Expert Dojo. "Having advised over 300 start-ups in the past, we see India as a critical part of our future growth plan.

This fund fills the gap between global investors and India's growth story.". As part of its efforts to increase its on-ground presence, Expert Dojo recently inaugurated a new Bengaluru office that will be the center of global deal flow, founder enablement, and ecosystem outreach. The company also intends to invest another $30 million in Indian start-ups within the next two to three years, repeating its long-term commitment to the nation once again.

Ashutosh Kumar Jha, General Partner at Expert Dojo, said, "India's talent pool is unmatched. However, gaps still remain in cross-border access to capital, mentorship, and global reach. This fund is specifically designed to bridge those gaps."

Expert Dojo's Indian portfolio boasts names such as Bhive, Cloudworx, Consuma, Mugafi, The Rollnumber, Fudr, and Doqfy. The founder-friendly approach and success story of the company elsewhere in the globe position it favorably to corner India's early-stage investment.

As India continues to develop as a global start-up ecosystem, strategic investment from the likes of Expert Dojo is an important source of innovation. This infusion of foreign investment in Indian start-ups is anticipated to drive growth, improve global connectivity, and create new opportunities for the next generation of Indian start-up entrepreneurs.
