The Beginning of the Journey
Aclymate co-founder and CEO, Mike Smith, began his journey with Aclymate when, as a young lad, he had an awakening about the forces of climate change. He watched forests burn down in his backyard as a child and was told that nature would slowly heal itself; but when he returned to his childhood hometown, 20 years later, the forests hadn't grown back. This made Mike feel urgent and responsible to do something; thus, he turned into an advocate for mitigating climate change.
Finally, Mike's journey introduced him to William Loopesko, the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Aclymate. Will loved animals and the outdoors and had a developing product that had to do with measuring the temperature of dogs. The two entrepreneurs met through an entrepreneurs' group, and hit it off, with a common dream of making climate change accessible to all.
Solution Aclymate
Aclymate's platform is designed especially for SMBs needing an all-in-one climate solution. At the core of the platform lie the three steps: Measure, Reduce, and Offset.
Measure: Aclymate's carbon accounting tool makes use of the GHG to measure and track emissions. The platform is integrated with major accounting software and utility companies for ease of gathering data. Users can also upload spreadsheets of additional information as needed.
Thanks to Aclymate's class-leading reporting functionality, enterprises are able to find hotspots-quick, easy reductions can be made. The intuitive reports present actionable insights for enterprises in light of decisions taken in consonance with real data.
Offset: Aclymate's marketplace presents a wide range of offset options from around the world. Users are free to browse and select offsets that are in tandem with their values and goals.
Certifications and Compliance
Aclymate's solution provides a way for businesses to achieve a number of certifications and compliances: for example, B Corp. The carbon accounting feature with Aclymate and the reporting feature help an organization in quantifying Scopes 1, 2, and 3 under the GHG protocol and reporting it. Third-party verification of the emission reports features on the platform; it also enables setting a net-zero target and defining the climate transition plan.
