Explore Amazon’s new Android tablet range, featuring three models with Alexa+, Google Play Store access, upgraded displays and prices starting at $229.99
Amazon has announced three new tablets that run Android and come with Alexa+ built in. The range includes a 12-inch model, an 11-inch tablet and a smaller 8.7-inch version. Prices start at $229.99, and shipping begins this month in North America and Europe. The new Amazon Android tablet range also gives users access to the Google Play Store.
The most expensive model is the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, priced at $499.99. It has a 12-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 16GB of RAM and four Dolby Atmos speakers. Amazon says the battery supports up to 16 hours of video playback. A version with a Nanomatte anti-glare screen costs $549.99. Read more about the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro.
The 12 Pro also supports a detachable keyboard and a Pro Pen. The keyboard costs $149.99 and the pen $89.99, adding to the cost for people who want to use the tablet for typing or handwritten notes. The Amazon tablet with keyboard option may suit users who need more than a device for watching videos or browsing.
The Alexa Tablet 11 costs $329.99. It has a 2.5K display, a 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM and two Dolby Atmos speakers. Battery life is rated at up to 15 hours of video playback. See the Alexa Tablet 11 product details.
At $229.99, the Alexa Tablet 8 is the cheapest of the three. Its 8.7-inch screen and 329-gram weight make it easier to carry around. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and offers up to 14 hours of video playback.

A key difference from Amazon’s Fire tablets is Google Play Store support. Buyers looking for tablets with Google Play Store access can download compatible apps through Google’s store instead of relying solely on Amazon’s app selection.
Alexa+ is another part of the launch. Amazon says the assistant can use information displayed on the screen when users choose to enable that feature. Screen visibility is off by default. The tablets also include a Kindle reading mode that silences notifications, with up to 20 hours of reading time.
Shipping is scheduled to start on October 14 in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain are set to follow on October 19.
