Tata Elxsi launches AnaTel AI software development platform for healthcare and medtech, enabling faster compliance, automation, and improved productivity
Tata Elxsi has launched AnaTel, an advanced AI-native software development platform built for healthcare and medical technology companies in collaboration with OpenAna. The launch of this AI software development platform was announced at DeviceTalks Boston 2026, targeting regulated medical device software environments.
AI Agents Across the Software Lifecycle
The company said AnaTel integrates autonomous AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture design, testing, deployment, validation, and compliance documentation. The system is designed specifically for software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) development, where regulatory precision is essential.
Focus on Regulatory Compliance and Documentation
A key feature of the platform is its ability to generate regulatory-ready artifacts such as audit trails, traceability matrices, and eSTAR-aligned submissions required by global regulators like the US FDA and European medical authorities. This strengthens compliance processes in highly regulated healthcare environments.
Faster Development and Higher Productivity Gains
Tata Elxsi said the AI software development platform could reduce software change assessment timelines from several weeks to as little as 72 hours. The company also expects productivity improvements of up to 60% through automation, AI-driven workflows, and faster validation cycles.
Collaboration with OpenAna
The platform combines Tata Elxsi’s healthcare engineering expertise with OpenAna’s autonomous AI engineering capabilities. The goal is to create a co-engineering system where AI agents assist development teams while maintaining human control over safety and compliance.
Leadership Perspectives on AnaTel
Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Tata Elxsi, said AnaTel enables faster regulatory-ready engineering while ensuring expert oversight remains central.
Rajiv Sondhi, CEO of OpenAna, said the partnership brings autonomous AI into a highly regulated sector where safety, traceability, and compliance are as critical as speed.
