Cornerstone Robotics’ Sentire Surgical System secures EU CE and Singapore HSA approval, expanding access to advanced robotic surgery across global markets
Cornerstone Robotics (CSR), a Hong Kong-based surgical robotics company, has announced that its Sentire Endoscopic Surgical System has received European Union CE marking under the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) along with Singapore Health Sciences Authority (HSA) certification.
This dual approval enables the system’s entry into both European and Asia-Pacific markets. The Sentire Surgical System supports minimally invasive procedures across general surgery, gynaecology, thoracic, and urology, marking a major regulatory milestone for the company.
Advanced Robotic Platform for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Sentire Surgical System integrates robotics, imaging, and software to enhance precision in minimally invasive surgery. CE marking under MDR confirms compliance with strict European standards for safety, quality, and performance. The system is designed to support complex surgical procedures while improving consistency and clinical outcomes across specialties.
Clinical Validation Through UK Hospital Partnerships
Since 2025, CSR has been collaborating with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust in the UK to conduct clinical investigations of the Sentire Surgical System. These studies span urology, gynaecology, and gastrointestinal surgeries, generating real-world clinical data. Early results have shown positive patient outcomes and strong clinician feedback, strengthening confidence in the system’s performance.
Strengthening Presence in Asia-Pacific Healthcare Markets
Singapore’s HSA certification further enhances CSR’s credibility in the Asia-Pacific region, known for its rigorous medical device approval standards. The company has also partnered with the National Healthcare Group and Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. At Woodlands Hospital, the system has been deployed for training, system testing, and workflow adaptation across multiple surgical teams.
Leadership Vision and Global Expansion Strategy
Professor Samuel Au, founder and CEO of Cornerstone Robotics, said the approvals mark a transition from technology innovation to becoming a global clinical solutions provider. He highlighted CSR’s focus on proprietary R&D, clinical value, and global hospital partnerships to expand access to advanced robotic surgery.
Strong Investor Backing and Future Growth Outlook
With both EU and Singapore certifications secured, CSR is positioned for accelerated global rollout of the Sentire Surgical System. Backed by strong investor confidence and continued international expansion, the company aims to broaden access to robotic-assisted surgery and strengthen its footprint in key healthcare markets worldwide.
