On Wednesday, the PlayStation parent company gave a first look at the collection, which features gradient-heavy designs transitioning from glossy black into neon-inspired hues. This release marks an attempt by Sony to inject more character and pop into modern gaming setups with the PS5 Hyperpop collection.

RGB-Inspired Design Takes Center Stage

According to Sony, the new colours draw their inspiration from the glow of RGB lighting common in gaming rooms and PC setups. Each accessory has a smooth gradient that shifts from a deep glossy black base into vivid red, green, or blue tones, giving them a futuristic and energetic look.

The DualSense wireless controllers in the PS5 Hyperpop collection come with a shiny black finish, which travels up to the edge of the touchpad and seamlessly blends into the signature colour. The face buttons and D-pad are still black, while the iconic PlayStation symbols subtly adopt the accent colour, adding contrast without overwhelming the design.

Sony confirmed the US price would be $84.99, €84.99 in Europe, and £74.99 in the UK for the Hyperpop DualSense wireless controllers, while the PS5 console covers would be available in very limited quantities across select markets for $74.99, €74.99, and £64.99 respectively.

It follows that the PS5 Hyperpop collection will start selling this March, but exact dates may vary depending on the region. Due to the covers being in limited supply, demand should be quite high among collectors and PlayStation enthusiasts.
