LG introduces CLOiD, its LG AI home robot, offering ambient care, smart household assistance, and connected living as part of its AI vision ahead of CES 2026
LG Electronics on Tuesday introduced a new home assistant robot named CLOiD as part of its “AI in action” vision ahead of CES 2026. The announcement was made during the company’s annual pre-CES showcase, LG World Premiere, held in Las Vegas under the theme “Innovation in tune with you.”
The unveiling signals LG’s growing focus on applying artificial intelligence in everyday living environments, with the LG AI home robot positioned as a central pillar of that strategy.
Designed for Ambient Care and Daily Assistance
CLOiD has been developed as a home-specialised AI agent aimed at reducing both physical and mental workload for users. According to LG Electronics, the robot is designed to provide ambient care by understanding household contexts and assisting proactively rather than simply responding to voice commands.
The LG AI home robot is equipped with two articulated arms and five-fingered hands, allowing it to perform practical household chores. These include placing laundry into a washing machine, carrying items around the home, or bringing a glass of water to users, reflecting a more hands-on approach to AI-powered assistance.
Moving Beyond Conversational AI
LG said CLOiD represents a shift from conversation-based AI to active orchestration of devices, spaces, and services. The robot can connect with and manage smart home appliances, creating a more integrated living environment. Through this approach, the LG AI home robot demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be physically embedded into home ecosystems.
Speaking at the event held at Mandalay Bay, LG Electronics CEO Lyu Jae-cheol said the company’s deep understanding of customer lifestyles gives it a strong advantage in developing meaningful AI solutions. He added that LG aims to set new standards for future home life through innovations such as robotics.
AI Experiences Beyond the Home
Lyu also highlighted that LG’s AI ambitions extend beyond residential spaces. He expects AI-powered experiences to expand into vehicles, workplaces, and commercial environments. In that broader vision, products like the LG AI home robot will serve as a foundation for delivering consistent AI services across multiple settings.
Showcasing OLED and AI-Powered Appliances
In addition to CLOiD, LG showcased its next-generation OLED TV lineup, including the OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV featuring a slim 9-millimeter panel and enhanced wireless technology. The company also highlighted its AI-powered LG Signature refrigerator, which understands conversational language and provides tailored food and recipe recommendations. Together, these innovations underscore LG’s broader push toward intelligent, connected living led by the LG AI home robot.
