Telia has officially launched its new Telia IoT Platform 2025 and the related monitoring system, whereby it will help companies from across the Nordic region to scale their digital transformation. The move highlights Telia's commitment to harnessing the growing demand for advanced connectivity and automation, as well as leveraging its strong mobile network capabilities.

The new platform is designed as a next-generation solution for companies struggling to get past pilots to widespread Internet of Things (IoT) implementation. With easy-to-use interfaces and proven technologies, the Telia IoT Platform 2025 builds on the operator's proven expertise, already powering over 28,000 devices in public and private organizations.

Plug-and-play monitoring solution

In addition to the IoT platform itself, Telia has launched a plug-and-play monitoring solution. This solution combines IoT devices, cellular connectivity, and direct access to the platform in a single package. By making installation simple and reducing integration obstacles, Telia aims to offer businesses a simple way of gathering, processing, and presenting data from connected equipment.

AI-powered analysis and optimisation tools are built into the system so that businesses can react fast to insights. For instance, the monitoring platform can empower businesses to streamline processes, optimize energy consumption, and improve decision-making capabilities using real-time data insights.

Supporting businesses to overcome challenges

Bjorn Hansen, Telia Sweden's Advanced Mobility B2B head, explained how the Telia IoT Platform 2025 is designed to address a common pain point: the difficulty many organizations have in scaling IoT from small pilots to large-scale, business-critical deployments.

“We are making it easier to secure and connect, and integrate data, and that can accelerate automation and data-driven decision-making," Hansen said. Through integrating security, connectivity, and usability, Telia is positioning itself as a key enabler for IoT adoption in the region.

Early customer adoption

The system came to fruition in real-world usage by Swedish companies. A real estate company utilized the Telia IoT solution to track and control climate conditions across 16 buildings. Surrounding this case study, it is easy to observe how the platform can reduce operational costs, become more efficient, and facilitate sustainability initiatives.

Telia emphasizes that its product is more than property management. The company expects the platform to appeal to a wide range of industries like logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. By providing a secure and scalable digital platform, the platform aims to meet the diverse needs of firms going through a transition to data-driven operations.

Positioning for growth in 2025

Part of Telia's broader strategy is to become a digital transformation partner in the Nordic region, and the release of Telia IoT Platform 2025 is an example of this. As the adoption of IoT accelerates worldwide, Nordic businesses are looking for solutions that are scalable, simple, and secure. Telia believes its platform provides all three.

Through leveraging the capability of mobile network robustness and advanced IoT technologies, Telia is leading the path towards broader use of connected solutions across industries. The addition of AI-driven analytics provides a new depth to the platform in helping organisations achieve efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness over longer periods.

As the companies in the Nordics keep pushing forward in the digital era, Telia's latest move is a testament to its aspiration to be a driving force for the growth of connected ecosystems. Telia IoT Platform 2025 can perhaps be an anchor for companies looking to derive more from data and make it smarter.
