Manufacturing Construction and Industrial Engine
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has stated that there will be a U.S. 31 construction project in Franklin. The roadwork will be done in phases and will start on April 1, with traffic controls during the construction.
The work will make roads better and help the traffic move more smoothly. It consists of six phases. During the initial phase, U.S. 31's northbound and southbound lanes each will be reduced to one lane across Canary Ditch for a temporary period. Then, traffic will be diverted on a temporary basis to the northbound lanes and then to the southbound lanes as the project proceeds.
Fixing the bridge and the replacement of the box culvert of Canary Ditch, more precisely between Schoolhouse Road and Acorn Drive, is the most significant component of the first stage. It must be completed before August, although later stages are to come.
Phase Two Changes to Intersections
INDOT has pledged that the second phase of the project will begin in late April, even before the first phase is complete. The second phase will focus on modifying the intersections of U.S. 31 with Ninevah Road and Franklin Lakes Boulevard. The modifications are aimed at enhancing safety and traffic flow in the region. INDOT believes that phase two will be complete by late November.
As the U.S. 31 construction work continues, residents in the area and drivers can expect lane closures and changing traffic patterns. INDOT will release information on future phases and closures later in the year.
Traffic Alert and Impact on Commuters
U.S. 31 drivers in Franklin can anticipate slowing traffic and take alternate routes if possible. INDOT encourages drivers to be aware of road construction workers and obey signs guiding traffic to ensure safety.
The residents and locals may experience some short-term issues, but ultimately, the travel condition will improve because of the upgrading of the highway.
